As West Africa continues to battle the latest spread of the Ebola virus, we looked at the data avaliable over the CrisisNET concerning the outbreak. Using a single API request, we discovered and pulled down Ebola-relevant reports from the Liberia Early-Warning and Response Network (LERN) and mapped a sample of them alongside with CDC data on the extent of the outbreak. The visualization is a quick demonstration of what is possible using the data in the CrisisNET platform. We hope it encourages others to create more advanced visualizations and analyses that improve their humanitarian work and the global response to the outbreak.
Later this week we will publish a tutorial going through step-by-step how we pulled the data down from CrisisNET. Don't want to wait? Get a free API key and get to work in minutes.
